2017 Goals

(I know this is a bit tad late but it's still January...better late than never eh?!) Ah, 2017, we meet already. As much as I don't particularly like new year for many many reasons, it is nice in a way to have a fresh start and put together a few goals of things you'd like to achieve in the year, obviously I'm going for more of those realistic goals otherwise I'd have 'find myself a boyfriend and fall in love' on the list but knowing my luck that ain't gonna happen so you know realistic goals are the way forward for this 2017 Goals list. Maybe towards the end of the year I'll come back to this and see what I did achieve and let you all know!

Learn Calligraphy - This is definitely something I'd love to learn this year, I started learning it last year but I really want to get better at it, I love the writing and it weirdly calms me down.

Stop picking/biting my nails - I'm terrible at this, I'm a nervous nail biter/picker so my nails are awful but I reaaalllly want to try and stop so they look all nice and pretty when I've painted them.

Be a bit more organised - I'm one of those people that doesn't organise anything, I just can't be bothered, even if it's organising clothes they're shoved in the drawer or on the chair and that's that so it's definitely something I need to work on this year, even becoming organised by actually picking up my diary, but my diary is PINK and glittery so naturally now I just want to use it because it's so purdy. Yep. Pink. Purdy. You heard it here first this gal is jumping on the pink train for literally the first time in her life.

Do more of my photography and Sell a print or two - Not really a shocking goal to be honest, I really want to get into my photography properly, it's such a passion of mine and I'd love to sell some prints too. It's definitely the best feeling.

Get another tattoo(s) - Now this is something I want to really get. I finally got my first tattoo last year and I absolutely love it, I've already got a few ideas of like 2 or 3 tattoos that I want but let's keep this goal to just get ONE tattoo this year.

Try and have more downtime to relax - This one I need to do. I spend too much of my time constantly worrying and it's no good for me, so I'm going to try and take time out put the phone away ignore the Internet ignore the world and try and relax.

Add more colour into my oh so boring wardrobe - I've already started to do this one actually by buying various pink things (did I mention I think I'm becoming obsessed with pink? Not like my blog is pink or anything...) I don't have much of a selection of colour it's basically just black white or grey. Very boring, so colour. Add more colour.

Do more colouring - Another one I've already started to do, I think I've coloured everyday since Christmas now and I find it so fun, I never used to like it but now it's something I really enjoy, it gets you away from the Internet and into your own little world for a while. Also colouring books are so cute and pretty.

Take more care of my hair/skin/nails - Something I most definitely don't do enough is taking care of my hair skin and nails, I've made it my mission this year to not bite my nails or pick them, to come up with a good skincare routine that helps my skin and then remember to actually do it every morning and evening and lastly to not straighten my hair as much and use less heat on it, so I can grow it out, Princess hair here I come!

Bake more - I love baking like love love love love LOVE it, it's so much fun and I love trying new things, I've already baked a cake this year so my baking more goal is already in full swing, I really also want to make cookies and I use gluten free flour so it is a bit more difficult but then I have so much fun with the trial and error. Yes I get stroppy but then I try again so definitely want to do more this year.

What's one thing you'd love to achieve this year?

Things You Need For A Cosy Night In

Okay so obviously, it's Winter, one of my all time favourite seasons even though I constantly complain that it's too cold but nothing beats this weather, I just get all excited because it still feels like Christmas and that's my all time favourite time of the year, I'm already counting down the days to this years Christmas. Yep. And still eating Christmas chocolate, watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music because it never fails to make me happy.

The best thing about this weather is you get to snuggle up in the evenings and have a cosy winter night in, I decided to put together a few things I think you NEED to have for that cosy night in:

Tea - Peppermint tea is THE best tea and it feels so nice and also calming to drink, plus it helps my tummy after all of that chocolate I've been putting away.

Cosy Socks - Because who doesn't like those nice warm cosy fuzzy socks that keep your tootsies warm? I get such cold feet in the winter that I currently have 3 pairs of socks on.

Blanket - Now this is just a must have isn't it? A nice cosy soft snuggle up blanket, I got one for myself and it's the softest thing I've ever felt like seriously it's like having a hug from a cloud.

DVD - Ahh DVDs. Always a good one to have for a cosy night in, even if it's just on as background tv...anyone else do that??

Book - A good old classic book never fails to help with a cosy Winter night in, why wouldn't you want to snuggle up in a blanket, by the fire with a tea reading a book? Ugh. Cosy.

Chocolate - I don't really need to say anything about this one do I?

Laptop - You know just in case you fancy doing a lil bit of blogging or YouTube watching or you

Your partner - Which is obviously know if you don't have me...enter crying emoji here. I'm a lonely gal that would very much like a boyfriend for this year pretty please world...not to sound desperate or anything.

Fairy Lights - Yep. Fairy lights. Even though the Christmas decorations are down fairy lights are staying throughout the winter because you just can't have a cosy night in without them!

Favourite Reads of 2016

Last year was the year I fell completely and totally in love, with books - not a guy - (unfortunately...well do fictional characters count?) I hadn't picked up a book in YEARS and I hated that because I loved it so much so when I picked up a new book last year, I was reading nearly everyday. I had a few favourite reads of last year so I thought I'd share them with you!

This Secret We're Keeping: (Review here) This was a book I didn't expect to love as much as I did, it's about a Teacher and a Student and the way it's written goes back in the day when they were together and then years later when they meet again, it was such an interesting read and I really enjoyed it.

Night Owls - This was another cute cute read, I read the beginning of this on the Kindle app before purchasing it to see if I'd like it and within the first few pages I knew I'd be getting it because I needed to find out the rest of the story between Bex and Jack, it starts by them meeting on a night owls bus, and it goes on from there but it's honestly such a good read and really opens your eyes up about mental health.

Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone - Do I really need to say anything about this apart from LOVE. READ IT.

The Twelve Days of Dash and Lily - This was such an adorable Christmas read, I absolutely loved it, I read this throughout December and it was the perfect book to read, it was full of love and it made my heart all warm and fuzzy. I might do a review on this one soon actually!

A Court of Thorns and Roses - This was the book I bought because I saw it all over the bookstagram world and I wasn't sure about it at all but oh my god I fell in LOVE with this book and to be honest I genuinely didn't expect to like it as much as I did!

A Court of Mist and Fury - Now THIS book was my ultimate favourite of last year honestly it was amazing and it's the second book to ACOTAR I completely and totally fell in love with the series but the second book is EVEN better than the first, seriously, everything changes and it's written so so so well, I cried about 3 times and my heart cannot WAIT for the 3rd book to be released this year!!

2016 Makeup Favourites

Hello, hello, hello everyone. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, I'm missing it already but I'm still watching Christmas Movies and eating Christmas chocolate so that's something. As you can see I'm back with a new look and some new posts for you. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't actually going to continue with blogging, I had such a nice break from it over the Christmas Holidays and I realised that I didn't actually miss it. That was until I gave it a bit of a makeover, and yes, it IS pink. I know, it's a bit of a shock seeing me with pink things, normally I was just a grey, white and black colour kinda gal, however that's changed recently and I am LOVING pink. I even bought a bunch of new Pink Clothes, so already I'm a changed girl for 2017. Anyway let's get onto the post; 2016 Make Up Favourites.

Makeup Revolution Powder: This powder was a definite firm favourite of mine throughout last year and I'm still going to be using it this year for sure. I struggled with finding a powder that helped keep the oilyness at bay and after many different powders, my Mum actually got me this one to try and I'm SO glad she did because it's my go-to powder. It sets my makeup with a lovely nice matte finish and keeps all the oilyness away, and it's only £2.

MAC Skin Base Visage: I got this primer free as a sample with an order from MAC a while back and I was pretty excited to try it out because I was yet to find a good primer, and obviously, MAC came in and along came the best Primer I'd use. It covers your pores really well and smooths out your skin on the T-Zone area, and it really kept the oily skin at bay with the help of a matte foundation and the MUR Powder.

Sleek Au Naturel Palette: A new brand I tried out last year was Sleek. I'd seen so much about Sleek around on YouTube and Blog Platforms that I decided to try out some of their eyeshadow palettes as my collection was really slacking on the good eyeshadow palettes. My favourite palette I purchased was the Au Naturel one (swatches and review here) this palette is full of all the colours you need for an everyday look to an evening night out look, its got shimmer and matte shades from golden shades to browns and black, it's the perfect palette to have in your makeup stash.

Sleek Solstice Highlight Palette: After loving the eyeshadow palettes from Sleek, I decided to try out their Highlight Palette. This palette is one of my all time favourite highlighting palettes, the shades are absolutely beautiful and they are SO pigmented, this is my go to palette and I already want their Cleopatra palette. You can read my review and see swatches of this one here.

Maybelline Lash Sensational and Benefit Roller Lash Mascara: These two were the go to combination I used all last year, I loved the finish of the both of them together, the lash sensational really gives volume to the lashes and then topped with the roller lash it really separates them out and lengthens them, I haven't found a mascara that does all of these things on its own yet so this is still my favourite combo to use, let me know your favourite mascaras below!

Soap & Glory Gloss Stick: Lastly is a lip product and it's one that I only started using towards the end of the year but it was the best one I'd used and really loved and it's the Soap & Glory Gloss Stick in the shade Nudist. This colour is THE perfect shade for everyday wear, it goes really well with a smokey eye which is what I tend to go for and I loved the finish of the shade.
