DHC Astaxtanthin Moisturiser and Beauty Lift Eye Care Roll On

If there’s one thing that suffers in the Autumn and Winter months it’s 100% my dry skin and I must admit I do slack in the moisturiser thing because I’m just too lazy (terrible I know) but even when I’ve religiously put moisturiser on it still seems to become really dry and sore.

Christmas with Bakerdays - Letterbox Gift Cake

I recently had the opportunity to try out a cake from the company bakerdays. Bakerdays are a company that prepare the most gorgeous looking cakes, you can pick the design you want, size, and type of cake. If you've always struggled to find a nice cake for yourself or for someone you know that eats Dairy & Gluten Free then look no further because bakerdays have you covered.

I had a search through all of the cake designs and me being me, I went ahead and picked a Christmas themed cake* with a stunning gold Christmas Tree with navy fondant, and I opted with the saying 'All is calm, all is bright' because I just thought it'd look so pretty with the Christmas Tree design on there. There was so many other choices but this design instantly started calling out to me. For the Sponge, I went with a Dairy Free, Gluten Free sponge cake and I was so excited to try it out.

October Loving

One of Us Is Lying - Another book that I absolutely raced through this month which was One of Us Is Lying, it's a murder mystery book. 5 students walk into detention, but only 4 of them leave alive. Honestly recommend this one so much. It's such a really good read, I'm even making my sister read it! Review coming soon.

Feather & Down: Sleep Matters

Brand Feather & Down have released a new range of bath, body and home fragrance products to help you get a good nights sleep, I was really excited to try these out as I do struggle with getting a decent nights sleep! The one thing I was sceptical about was the scent as I'm not a fan of the strong lavender scent that usually goes with calming sleep products, however, I was pleasantly surprised by the scent of the Feather & Down products, as they've blended Lavender with Chamomile which are known for helping you relax, and honestly as soon as the scent hit me when I opened the products, you could instantly feel slightly calmer and that was just by having a look at them, I hadn't even tested them out at this stage.

Book Haul

I've been picking up some new books over the last couple of months and I wanted to do a lil post and share with you what I've picked up! I'm totally blaming the bookstagram World (follow me here, plug plug plug) for half of these purchases because I'm on there ALL THE DAMN TIME. I'm always stalking pages on there and then when you see a new book it sounds so good then I end up getting myself a copy! As usual I've added a lil lil blurb from Amazon for you just in-case you want to see what they're about and you like the sound of one - that and I'm far too lazy to write up my own blurb about them...

Summer Makeup Picks

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation - I've been wearing a lighter foundation lately - when I bother to put makeup on that is - but every other foundation that was usually my go to was a very matte finish and a very high coverage and it just felt far too caked on for my liking, especially on those hotter days. The Rimmel Match Perfection is my sisters (itsthebluebow) favourite foundation so she told me to give it a go and I ended up really liking it, it felt light on my face, almost like I didn't even have a foundation on, it''s a dewy finish and it is really good coverage as well.

So anyway I decided to get my sister (itsthebluebow) to pick up some books off of my bookshelf and I'm going to try my very best to read all of these in July! Here's what's on this months TBR! (I've added the lil blurb from Amazon just in case you like the sound of one)

I mean look at the cute lil purse and the pom pom keyring, that even smells of pineapple which just makes it even cooler!

Nivea Sensitive Micellar Water

I touched on this product slightly in my monthly favourites but I wanted to do a separate review on it so here it is!

I usually just stick to my trusty Garnier Micellar Water whether it was the Oil Infused one or just the normal one but I was running out and my Mum gave me this Sensitive Caring Micellar Water from Nivea to use and I was so impressed with it when I first used it. It removed my makeup so much more quickly than I was expecting it too, and it removed my eyeliner which is always the part that seems to linger on my bottom lash line when it's time to remove the makeup.

The other thing I liked about this one is that it's for sensitive skin, and let's just say I DO have sensitive skin and some makeup removers leave my eyes and my skin stinging like crazy but I didn't get that at all with this and I've been suffering with really dry skin lately as well and that stings like anything when using some moisturisers but it didn't hurt at all when using this to take my makeup off which was honestly such a relief. I also didn't find that it left my skin feeling tacky after all my makeup was removed, if anything it felt really fresh, clean and hydrated. Overall I'm really loving this one at the moment and I'd definitely repurchase it when the time comes, super impressed! It retails at £3,69 for 200ml which is perfect for me because I don't wear makeup too often so this is going to last me a while, also it goes on sale for around £2 which is even more of a bargain and definitely cheaper than the Garnier!

What's In My Bag?

As you can tell by the title I'm going to do a What's In My Bag post! Weirdly I like these kind of posts/videos probably because I'm nosey and want to know what everyone keeps in their bags because you know why not it might give you an idea and be like YAS I need that in my bag or you know their might be a weird thing and your like wtf why is that in their bag either way the moral of the story is that I'm nosey and I like these posts so I figured I'd do one.

Firstly my bag (badly pictured - soz) is from Skinny Dip London, now you've ALL probably heard about Skinny Dip, they seem to be the go to place of every blogger looking for a quirky phonecase (me included) but the best thing is they sell a bunch of other things too and one of those things is bags! I got myself a backpack and it's the Bumble one which was from their Cowboy range I think? It's silver with studs on the top flap and patterns and it's got a button to close it and an internal zip pocket as well, it's actually a really nice bag, I like backpacks because I'm one to carry my camera everywhere but I will say it's annoying at the same time because you can't take it out quickly to snap that perfect picture that will be gone within a second and you've missed it because you were too slow opening your backpack, other than that, really like it, it's practical, pretty and great for storing all of my crap.

Obviously first thing in my bag is my phone - does anyone go anywhere without a phone these days? The answer to that is yes. If you answered no, well then you clearly haven't met my sister. I have an iPhone surprise surprise yeah it's expensive Apple are annoying but still love the phone.

Diary + Pen - You never know when you're going to need your diary or a pen to jot something down quickly, I know I could use my phone but there's nothing like a cute lil diary to write all that important crap in you know like what you're having for dinner that night or when your favourite TV show's back or if you're a lot more social than me party dates and other things.

Merci Hand Gels* - Firstly oh my gosh how cute are these little Hand Gels? They're literally the cutest things ever and I'm surprised my sister hasn't stolen them because she's a sucker for cute small products. These little hand gels are the perfect size to pop into your bag for the day or night out even, it's nice to have an anti bacterial gel when you go out just incase you touch something gross or you go to the doctors and have to touch the door where all germy people are because doctors (lol) the other thing about this is how yummy they smell. At first they smell gross, like a proper anti bacterial gel but then when you've rubbed it all in it smells so nice! I have the scents Black Vanilla and Lollipop and they just smell so nice, leave your hands feeling soft, smelling nice and you know no longer germy. YAY FOR NO GERMS.

Camera - Not pictured just the lens cap because I used it to take this picture so couldn't include it HA - As you probably know I love photography bloody love it, slack on it half the time but still love it nonetheless. I have a Canon DLSR and it's my little baby and the best thing EVER.

Tissues - These are an ESSENTIAL because I'm a nightmare with my runny nose seriously (bet you could've done without knowing that but hey ho were all friends here...I hope) but what better way to wipe your nose with an angel tissue, aren't they the cutest? Not much else to say really, essential, runny nose or you know mucky pup with food or ice cream around your mouth.

Baby Lips - You can't go anywhere without having a nice lip balm in your bag just in case you fancy a top up or when your lips are dry and you need to apply it like every hour (talking about a friend...) I have this funky looking one from Maybelline which is a cheek and blush so two products  in one however I don't wear blush so I use it purely for my lips, it's got a nice little peachy tint, smells amazing and keeps my lips hydrated. What more could I want?

Lastly is a purse and oh my gosh how adorable is this little strawberry purse it's literally the cutest thing, I keep my money in here you know 1p coins I've found here and there and the odd £1 coin. Broke life eh? I may be broke but at least my purse is cute.

Gluten Free Easter Cornflake Nests

I love a good little cereal treat, whether it's with Rice Krispies or Cornflakes. I know the usual Easter Cereal Treat is with Shredded Wheat but when you eat Gluten Free you miss out on those ones but I was really fancying some so I figured I'd make my own but do them with some Gluten Free Cornflakes instead! They're the easiest things to make but they look super cute, and they taste really good.

Here's what you'll need:

Gluten Free Cornflakes
Cupcake Cases

All you need to do for these is to break up the chocolate melt it all together in a bowl, I pop it into the microwave for 30 seconds at a time and keep checking on it until it's all melted, next pour in however many Cornflakes you'd like and mix all the chocolate and Cornflakes together, then before they all dry together spoon the chocolate Cornflakes into cupcake cases add a few mini eggs and leave them to set and there you go, easy cute Easter treats done!

Body Fantasies Body Spray

As you may or may not have seen in my March Favourites I mentioned that I was loving the Sweet Pea Fantasy Body Spray from Body Fantasies. I loved their original range and my favourites were definitely Pink Grapefruit and Twilight Mist. Pink Grapefruit was my go to Spring/Summer scent and then Twilight Mist was my go to for the Autumn/Winter. When I saw they were releasing FOUR new scents in bigger 236ml sized bottles I was so excited, I saw all of the names and I immediately wanted to try Kissing In the Rain, not because I love kissing in the rain because I have no one to kiss in the rain but I'm sure it'd be fun and romantic like it always is in the movies however nope didn't want to try it because of that, I wanted to try it purely because it had the word 'rain' in it; now you make think I'm the weird one but I love rain, seriously if I wake up and there's rain hitting the window I instantly feel relaxed and happy, probably how some people feel when they see the sunshine but the sun doesn't do that for me, stormy rainy cloudy weather does.

I was thinking about doing a beauty shop so Kissing in the rain was first on my list however I got an email about trying them out and oh my gosh I jumped at the chance seriously I think it's the quickest I've ever replied to the email. What I didn't expect was to receive all four of their bigger bottles of the new scents!! One of the reasons as to why I love these is because I'm such a clumsy person so I end up dropping a lot of things but the best thing is these are in plastic bottles so they don't break when you drop them which is obviously such a good thing for me no more broken perfume bottles, YAY! I still have some of the smaller 94ml bottles as well and I got them last year so it just shows how long they actually last so these bigger bottles are probably going to last me AGES! On their description they actually claim to have 575 sprays in them and the 94ml to have 300 sprays and to be honest I 100% agree with that. Not that I've counted you know but they just last so long.

The scents I received were:

Sweet Pea Fantasy* - 'A fun and flirty fragrance'  Sweet Pea Fantasy actually ended up being my favourite scent out of all of them in the end, it smells so fruity and it just reminds me of Spring and Summer and I definitely think this will be my go to Spring/Summer body spray. I've been using it nonstop lately and it literally looks like I haven't even touched it, I love how long they last!

Kissing In The Rain* - 'A young, clean fruity and floral fragrance'  Kissing In The Rain is my next favourite scent and again I think it'll be my go to spray for the Autumn and Winter because it actually smells like rain, like seriously, like spring rain weirdly but like a floral scent all at the same time, so it's a mix of floral and musty sort of scent I would say, I absolutely love it though, it's exactly as they describe it.

Vanilla* - 'Combines rich notes to create a relaxing and exhilarating fragrance' Vanilla is exactly what you expect it to smell like. Vanilla! It smells like Vanilla Ice Cream and just basically all things Vanilla it smells really really good.

Cotton Candy* - 'Absolutely delicious! This playful body spray brings back childhood memories of carefree days and fun' Cotton Candy is the sweetest scent out of all of them and I think this could be either a love it or hate it kind of scent depending on how you feel about sweet scents. It does really remind me of some of the Lush Bath Bombs and just walking into a funfair full of cotton candy and happiness in the Summer,  so if you love that then this Scent will definitely be right up your street, but if you're not a lover of the sweet scents, I'd try one of the others and steer clear of this one.

All these scents are available NOW from the Superdrug website and they're available in both the smaller and larger bottles, the small bottles (94ml) retail for £3.99 and the bigger ones(236ml) retail at £8.99 which isn't actually a bad price considering the amount you're actually getting and how long they last, total bargain!

Gluten Free Easter Nest Brownies

With Easter being this month I fancied making some Gluten Free Easter Brownies, I had a real craving for them and they didn't turn out too bad so I thought I'd pop the recipe up on here so you can make them yourselves if you fancy it. They were so yummy even if I do say so myself, I also probably ate the majority of them. Oops.

Here's what you'll need to make these Easter Brownies:

150g Plain Chocolate
100g Butter
200g Sugar (I used Caster Sugar)
100g Plain White Flour (I used Doves Farm)
1tsp Baking Powder
3 Eggs
Mini Eggs
Betty Crocker Fudge Frosting

  1. Gently melt together the chocolate and the butter on a medium heat on the stove
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, flour and baking powder until combined
  3. Next beat the eggs into the dry ingredients and mix together
  4. Once your chocolate and butter is fully melted, pour it into the bowl with your other ingredients and mix together until it's all combined and you have a brownie batter
  5. Pour your mixture into a baking tin and bake in the oven for 22-25 minutes but keep checking on them anyway
  6. Leave to cool and cut into squares
  7. All that's left to do is to use your frosting, spread a little bit onto each of the brownies and use a fork to make the nest pattern, add on a few mini eggs and voila, little brownie Easter egg nests done!

March Favourites

It's monthly Favourites time!! I've got a few favourites this month so let's just right into it
First up is the Bulleproof Mascara from Teeez Cosmetics* now I'm really not going to say too much about this one because I've wrote a review on it here which you can read but oh my gosh I just LOVED it from the first time I tried it. Seriously.

Okay so remember when I said I ditched my trusty Studio Fix for the Rimmel Wake Me Up? Yeah well turns out I then ditched the Wake Me Up for my SFF. I love it okay, it's literally the best foundation I've ever tried, yes it's pricey which trust me, annoys the hell out of me when I have to repurchase it, but at the same time I know I love the product and I know how good the coverage and staying power for it is, so overall just a win win from me really.

I was running out of my usual makeup remover and my Mum gave me this one from Nivea which is for sensitive skin, and I'm SO glad she did, it really removes your makeup so quickly, and it didn't make my skin sting or go red literally nothing.

Oh next up is some body sprays, now you all should know how much I love the original Body Fantasies, but guess what? They've added FOUR new scents to their range and in bigger bottles. YAYYY!! My current favourite is the Sweet Pea Fantasy* scent but as per because I'm annoying I'm not going to say too much because I've got a review coming on these real soon!

Next up is a couple of music favourites that I've been listening too for the last month or so and the first one is Unfinished Business by Nathan Sykes, I didn't expect to love this album as much as I actually do, I always find myself singing the songs and my favourite has to be There's Only One Of You! Absolutely LOVE that song!

Last but not least is a favourite YouTuber! I hardly put YouTube favourites in my monthly favourites but for this one I wanted to include it because I'm really enjoying her vlogs and the person it is is Being Kelsey. I love her videos, mainly because she's so down to earth and so positive, seriously if you want a giggle and some positivity go check out her videos here!

Teeez Cosmetics

Helloooooooooo everybody,

So today, I'm doing a lil lil Review on some Teeez Cosmetics*, firstly their packaging is AMAZING! I mean look how cool that is. You can already tell that it's more of a highend brand, and that the products are going to be good quality and just so you know they're also cruelty free!

If you've read my blog for a while you'll know how much I love my highlighters but I actually haven't tried a cream based highlight so I was super excited to try the Style Addict Highlighter*out and guess what? I LOVE it. Oh my gosh the highlight is so beautiful, it's in the shade Body Heat. It looks so pretty and pink based shimmer on the cheekbones and it lasts allll day long, it's not over the top but you could also probably achieve that Kardashian look with this Highlighter, you can make it subtle or you can go all out with it. SO PRETTY. It's a perfect shade for the Spring and Summer.

To be honest, I rarely wear pink or purple toned eyeshadows because I just stick to the bronze shades, however when I opened this To Die For Eyeshadow Quad* I absolutely loved the look of the eyeshadows and they've been the only ones I've been wearing since I received them. The palette is in the shade Stunning Haze but the shadows themselves don't have separate names so that's why I put them as 1,2,3 and 4 on the swatches. They're super pigmented and such beautiful shades, they also apply like a dream and they're so easily blended into one another, I wouldn't say there's that much fallout either, just a little bit from the black shade but nothing too much, I tend to do my eyeshadow before my foundation anyway so when I've applied these I'll put the foundation on and the little bit of fallout has disappeared and they stayed out throughout the day until I removed it so overall very very impressed with this Eyeshadow Quad, it goes straight to the top spot of my favourite Eyeshadow Palettes.

I haven't really tried out a different mascara since I found the Maybelline Lash Sensational because I didn't think any other mascara could compare but boy was I wrong. That went out the window and down to the number 2 spot and the Bulletproof Volume Mascara* from Teeez has taken the number 1 spot. From the second I applied the Black Out Mascara to one eye the difference was insane. It made my lashes look super fluttery, added volume and definition to them and it gave them length. Literally everything you want a mascara to do, this one did it, I can't praise it enough I absolutely love it at the minute, it'd probably be even better if you curled your lashes as well but I'm just too petrified that I'd chop them off!

Material Girl Lipstick* - Everyone loves a good old red lipstick don't they? Well I think this one - which is the shade Dead Sexy - is one of those lipsticks. This is a go to red lipstick that every girl owns, it's a quite a bright toned red I'd say but it's the perfect shade for the Summer days and evening's out when you want to go with the hardly any makeup and keep the lips the main focus of the look. I found this one really easy to apply, it went on like a dream and it's insanely pigmented, it also felt quite hydrating on the lips which is also a bonus, it reminds me of the MAC - Russian Red but slightly brighter and nowhere near as drying.

Read My Lips Lipstick* - This is my favourite lipstick out of all of them, it's in the shade On Trend and it's probably my favourite because it's a brown toned nude shade, I love a good ol' brown toned lipstick because it just suits my skin tone and it worked perfectly with the purple toned eyeshadows to pull the whole look together. As for the application it's super hydrating when you apply it, it's a Satin Matte finish so at first it's kind of like a glossy finish but I find it does mattify slightly throughout the day but it doesn't dry my lips out at all. It also lasts so well on the lips, I tried it out putting it on around 9am and I didn't take it off until around 6pm and it was still on, it stayed put throughout eating/drinking and it was only just fading in the middle around the time I was taking it off. LOVE IT. I'll most likely be repurchasing this one when it's all gone.

Vivacious Lip Stain* - This product I wasn't really that keen on at first because of the shade, I don't really wear pink lip products and holy crap this one is SO bright like seriously, I did end up liking the shade but I definitely think it's more of a going out shade rather than an everyday sort of look. But with this one there is a bit of a downside because this one is a really matte finish, when you apply it it feels sticky at first and then it dries into a full matte finish and the stickiness has disappeared, the only problem was, it was quite patchy upon application and it was cracking throughout the day because of how matte it was and it was definitely drying on the lips.

One quick note as well, the swatches actually don't do any of these products justice, the shades are so much more pigmented and vibrant off of the camera!
