Sleek Au Naturel Palette & Swatches

I recently did a review of the Vintage Romance palette from Sleek and you can read that and see swatches here if you'd like but I decided to review the Au Naturel one as well. My thoughts are pretty much the same about both palettes, they're such good quality shades and the pigmentation is really good. On some of the shades from this palette some shades aren't as pigmented as others as you can see from the swatches above it's the more lighter shades but they work as really good base shades so I don't really mind too much because that's probably what they're meant for you'd just think they'd be more pigmented from the way the colour looks in the palette itself. Again it comes with 12 different shades ranging from Matte to Shimmery. Normally I don't go for Shimmery shades but I'm really loving them now it's Spring they just look really pretty and subtle on the eyes and when I'm going for a more subtle look I opt for this palette and I use the top shades but this palette can also be used to create a really good smokey eye and for that I use mainly the bottom shades and just the white shade from the top for the base of the shadow. I also love the names of these shades in this palette I said this before but I'll say it again, I just love when brands give shades various names rather than 01 because come on we all know that's just boring! This palette retails at £7.99 and it's one hundred percent worth the money but you know I do tend to wait until there's a 2 for £10 or 3 for 2 because I'm not one to miss a good bargain haha! What are your favourite products from sleek? What else should I try from them?

Disappointing Products

This is a new post up on BMA and I've never put one up before but I figured why not let you all know about my disappointing products? There's actually not that many which is a good thing obviously but there's always a few that you buy because everyone else finds them amazing but they end up not working the best for you, dang it!

First up is the Studio Sculpt foundation from MAC. Now I love MAC make up especially their lipsticks and their Studio Fix Fluid Foundation this foundation however is not one of those products that I love. I was so excited to try it out from them and it took me a while to buy it because I wasn't sure if it was going to be pale enough but luckily it was so I was super happy with that but I was expecting it to be a really good foundation but the formula is so thick that it makes my face feel full on caked in make up and I hate that feeling on my skin, yes it's a good coverage but then it should be with how heavy it feels, along with the formula of the foundation it also made me oily within the hour.. And that was in Winter! I tried it in Summer and it looked horrible. I just cannot get along with this one at all. Thumbs down from me MAC!

I'd saw so many people hype this Eraser Eye Concealer up but to be honest I'm glad I didn't purchase it myself I actually stole it from my sister (It's The Blue Bow) to give it a whirl because everyone was absolutely loving it and it was becoming everyone's go to over the Lasting Perfection so I had to give it a go. First things first even though the shade is 'light' it most definitely is not light. At all. Most people use this over the top of their foundation however when I do that I had orange patches there because of how dark it was on my pale skintone. Secondly.. It felt cakey underneath my eyes and I did find the whole turn and brush it on with the little brush quite annoying because half the time you had to turn it at least 10 times before anything came out. I don't particularly suffer with bad under eye circles but then I also didn't notice it make a difference at all when I put it on the only difference I noticed was that my skin went from pale to orange. Awkward.

Onto a disappointing mascara next! I thought this Rimmel Supercurler mascara was going to be a dupe of Benefits Roller Lash and well that was a stupid thought because it's far from it. I didn't want to give into the hype of the roller lash after giving in to many others that were bad so I tried this one out and well this one does nothing. I didn't notice any difference at all with using this mascara it just made my lashes extra black but that was about it, it didn't lift them up one tiny bit. The other thing was that I found the mascara wand really flimsy and it actually felt like it was going to snap at one point especially when you took it out of the mascara tube it was just all around bad quality.

Now I actually didn't know whether to include this one or not because sometimes it's okay but for the majority of the time it doesn't work and that's the Stay Matte Powder from Rimmel. This is so many beauty bloggers/vloggers favourite powder and like I said some days it does actually work well on my skin mainly in Winter but I'm pretty sure that's only because I have dry skin in Winter but when I use this to keep the shine away.. It doesn't stay away for long enough for me it's probably 2 hours tops in the Spring and Summer and it just makes me go so shiny!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation

I'd been meaning to try this Stay Matte Foundation out last year after hearing so many good things about this one for the summer as well as the Infallible foundation from L'Oreal but I haven't got around to purchasing that one yet. This one however I really do like, I suffer with dry skin and oily skin and it all depends on whatever my skin is feeling when I wake up each morning but usually it's ridiculously dry in the Winter and ridiculously oily in Spring and Summer. I've been using this Matte Foundation from Rimmel recently because it's been getting warmer. The formula reminds me of MAC's Studio Sculpt foundation however I like this one a lot more than the Studio Sculpt Foundation (see why here... Plug plug plug). Although the formula is the same the application is different, when I put this one on I don't need much at all I usually use a concealer first then pop this over the top but I only use a little bit and a little bit really goes a long way, its a really thick formula and it's a complete matte finish which is perfect and exactly what I need for the warmer days. It's kept my skin matte for most of the day but when it does start to wear off it goes into looking dewy and glowy look rather than an oily sweating mess which I can put up with. I don't find that it brings out my dry skin too much but I also don't think I'd go near this foundation for the Winter months however for Spring it's been working wonders and again I've been using it in conjunction with my all time favourite powder from Make Up Rev. Now obviously it's not been scorching hot so I can't say whether or not that it'd stay full on matte for most of the day being out in the Summer sun but I'll just have to wait and see for that one but fingers crossed at the moment it's a thumbs up from me. Have you tried this foundation out?

Vaseline Sugar Coated Lip Therapy

Over the last month or so I've not really been liking any shade of lipstick, I get into these moods where I either love them or hate them and it's been a 'hate them' sort of month. I've disliked everyone that I've put on which was really getting on my nerves. I wanted a barely there lipstick and I soon realised that I didn't have one of those - shocking I know. But I didn't even know what colour to even purchase just in case it wasn't what I was really looking for so one morning I just decided to pick up my Vaseline Lip Therapy Pot and I ended up loving how it looked!

I've been really liking the hardly any make up look because we're finally in Spring and this worked perfectly with the rest of my make up look, it was the perfect 'nude' shade I was looking for which definitely wouldn't have been the shade of any lipstick I purchased so that was lucky haha. This Vaseline pot is so cute and little, it's perfect to take with you in your bag or even your pocket for touch ups on the go, the best thing about it is the fact it's really moisturising for the lips so my lips are looking all shiny and healthy which is exactly what I was looking for. I found that it lasted around 2-3 hours leaving the shine on my lips before it needed a touch up which is so good for a lip balm. I thought this was a limited edition at first but when I searched around I found out that it wasn't which I'm super glad about because I love it! It's definitely become my go to lip product over the last month and for £2.99 you can't really go wrong, I'll definitely be repurchasing this one when I need too.

April Favourites

I've got quite a few favourites this month and it's a mixture of everything! First up I've got two beauty products and they are the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara and the Rimmel Brow This Way. I bought these a couple of weeks back because I'd been wanting to try the mascara out for SO long but I ended up purchasing the smaller one for £10 instead of paying £20 for the big one just in case I didn't like it and it turns out.. I do! I've been using it a lot lately I definitely notice that it helps curl my lashes because I'm just not a lash curler girl I can't be bothered to add that into my make up routine as well so finding a mascara that does that is a bonus for me. As usual I won't say too much as I do have a review coming up on this one soon, but thumbs up from me.

Next up I'd ran out of my go to brow product so I needed to try something else and I went and bought the Brow This Way from Rimmel and I'm super impressed with this one, it was £3.99 and when I first got it I was expecting it to be a bit bigger and I was worried I'd run out of it pretty quickly but it's still going strong and I haven't hit pan yet. I got the dark shade because that matches my hair colour better and I do love a dark brow and this product is so good, it makes my eyebrows look so much better haha! It also lasts all day until I take it off and that's without using the wax that comes with it! For £3.99 this might just become my new go to brow product.

Next up is a chocolate favourite and I'm so obsessed with these Galaxy Golden Eggs I had so many over Easter that I'm probably still trying to work those off.. Oops? I just can't explain how good these are I mean.. They're gold and they have honeycomb in and they're galaxy that's just my favourite combination EVER. I'm going to be gutted when you can't get these anymore but roll on next Easter or you know Galaxy just bring them out permanently pretty please? Or not actually because I do still need to try and be healthy..but then 80/20 rule and all that! Also they sort of look like the Golden Snitch and I love Harry Potter!

I'm definitely not a tea girl and I cannot stand hot drinks not even a hot chocolate I tried to like them but it just wasn't happening but recently I've gotten into the Peppermint Tea from Twinings and it's SO nice, it's really refreshing in the weirdest way and I cannot go a day without having a cup of tea to start the morning...who even am I anymore?

I'm not sure what to say about this one apart from I'm STILL obsessed with this movie and I'll leave you with this.. Twilight. Robert Pattinson. Team Edward ALL the way! Don't really need to say anymore on that one..

Lastly is an album favourite from Shawn Mendes and I'm probably a bit behind on this one because I saw so many people hype up this album but I never got around to listening to it until recently and I'm absolutely loving it. I love all of the songs on this album and there's so many that help me out on my down days because the lyrics are spot on especially on A Little Too Much & This Is What It Takes they struck a chord with me because it just sums me up on some days so I'm loving this one.

That's all my favourites for this month! What have you been loving?
